OUT OF HOME CARE

At Miroma Inc, we understand that all carers deserve a well-earned break from their caring role. Our out of home care service allows families respite from their everyday responsibilities, while offering participants a friendly and supportive environment.

Out of home care includes short term and extended centre-based support at our five-bedroom residential home in Mount Gambier.

Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers are trained to offer flexible and personalised care for child and adult participants, providing a home away from home and peace of mind for carers.

Our out of home care service allows participants to develop confidence and relationships outside of the family circle, as well as engaging with the wider community.

HOME SUPPORT

Through out our 30 year history in the South East, Miroma Inc has remained committed to meeting the diverse needs of the local community. As a result, we have recently expanded our services to include home support for people with disabilities and the aged.

Our aim is to ensure participants maintain their independence with in their homes and the community, while receiving necessary and personalised support from our trained staff.

Staff are able to respond to the everyday living needs of individual participants, including support for self care tasks and daily living activities.

Miroma Inc staff can assist you with:

  • Meal times, including cooking, shopping and planning meals.
  • Getting reading for school and/or work
  • Personal care, including showering, dressing and other daily living skills
  • Attending community based activities and programs
  • Enhancing and increasing social skill development and relationships

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Over the past 10 years, Miroma Inc has developed our successful school holiday program for children with disabilities.

With a focus on assisting children in actively participating in the local community, the program runs from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday through out the Christmas, and mid term school holidays.

Miroma Inc tailors each school holiday program to the diverse needs and abilities of participants, ensuring both families and participants feel comfortable taking part in a wide range of community, social and civic activities.

The school holiday program allows children to develop confidence outside of the family home, providing an opportunity to develop and increase skills and abilities within a safe and caring environment.

Youth Club 

The Miroma Inc youth club is focussed on providing young adults with disabilities an opportunity to develop their confidence and self-esteem through the planning of their own leisure activities.

With the support of our trained staff and volunteers, participants can independently develop their own activities based on their interests and skills.

This allows participants to fill empowered within their choices and abilities, while concentrating on enhancing their self-esteem, communication and social skills.
